In the context of DTF (Direct to Film) printing, “hot peel” refers to the process of removing the DTF film from the garment immediately after heat pressing.
Here’s how it works:
After the design has been printed onto the DTF film using a DTF printer, it is placed onto the fabric.
The fabric with the DTF film on top is then placed into a heat press machine.
The heat press machine applies heat and pressure, causing the ink on the DTF film to transfer onto the fabric.
Once the heat pressing process is complete, the fabric is removed from the heat press machine, and the DTF film is peeled away from the fabric while it’s still hot. This is known as a “hot peel.”
Hot peeling is preferred for DTF printing because it allows for the ink to adhere better to the fabric, resulting in more vibrant and durable prints. Additionally, hot peeling minimizes the risk of ink smudging or smearing during the transfer process. However, it’s important to note that the hot peel process requires caution to avoid burning oneself with the heat from the fabric or the heat press machine.
